General Description: The river is continuous white water for its length. Beware of overhanging willow trees for the kilometre down to the weirs, about 100 m past the first bridge. These weirs are best shot toward the centre as there is a small shute through. About 2 km past the second bridge is a very low bridge used by a local farmer. The bridge can be a hazard at water levels over 0.8 m but can be easily examined from the road. The rest of the section provides good white water to Westerway. The road follows the river for the most part of its length. This section of the river was used for many years as the kayak leg for the Winter Challenge and was a great DR run when there was enough water.
