Distance: 4 km.
Average Grade: 10 m/km.
Peak Grade: 20m/ km while on the white water.
Difficulty: Grade 4-5- 6.
Paddling Time: 1 hour.
Entry Point: Take a small track (Grid ref. DP 322 678) from the Mersey Forest Road (C171) about 1 km from the end. This track leads through open bush to the river.
Exit Point: From a track about 2 km into Lake Rowallan on the right bank (Grid ref. 350 715).
Water Level: 800 cusecs. No gauge available.

General Description: The river is small and shingly for 500 m., then becomes steeper with boulders. A sharp right hand corner with a drop is portaged on the left hand side around three drops (the last two being unpaddleable). After 200m. there is another portage on the left around a huge rapid with logs and a 15 m. drop. This is followed by grade 2-3 rapids to the lake. Above the entry are 12 m. waterfalls. Not recommended.
