Entry Point: At Lake Dixon (Grid ref 260 315) which requires walking from the Rufus Canal access road.
Exit Point: Franklin Bridge on the Lyell Highway Bridge (A10), (Grid ref. 190 257).
Water Level: Unknown, but due to the very steep nature of the river, a low flow is likely to be necessary.
Tasmap: 1:100 000 Nive (Topographic Series) as a minimum, 1:25 000 Rufus, Arrowsmith and Loddon sheets preferable..
General Description: Only one known trip in kayaks. The river is very steep in sections and includes a dolerite gorge with several waterfalls marked on the 1:25 000 Arrowsmith Sheet.
